How to Apply

Discover the simple steps to apply for admission to St. Catherine's Private Primary School. Join our vibrant community where your child’s educational journey begins with support every step of the way.

Application Process

Thank you for your interest in St. Catherine’s Private Primary School! We take great care in reviewing each application, aiming to understand every prospective student as both a learner and a unique individual. While we honor your child’s past achievements, our focus is on their future potential, dedication, and how they can contribute to the St. Catherine’s family, as well as the wider local and global communities.

Admissions to St. Catherine’s Private Primary School are conducted on a rolling basis. However, we encourage families seeking to enroll their children to begin the process early, ideally during the final term of the preceding academic year for a September start. For mid-year admissions, starting in January, we recommend beginning the process in the first term of the current academic year.

If you have any questions or require further clarification about any part of our admissions process or entrance requirements, please feel free to email us at ad********@*****************ry.com. We understand that unique circumstances may arise, and we are happy to work with you to accommodate any specific needs. We’re here to support you every step of the way!

Ages 5 -13

Students aged 5 and up may be considered for enrollment in the respective class group from Infants 1 to Standard 5 at St. Catherine’s Private Primary School. Class placement decisions for these students are based on our academic assessment, previous school report cards or  transcripts, and school referrals. We carefully evaluate a student’s prior school results to determine an “Equivalent Standing.” This evaluation will guide how credits are awarded, ensuring that the student meets the required academic standards for graduation.

Step 2: Assessment

The assessment process helps determine your child’s likelihood of success at St. Catherine’s Private Primary School. Our curriculum delivery and student assessment methods may differ from other local and international programs, making this screening essential. We consider a student’s most recent school reports alongside our academic assessments.

  • Infants (Ages 4-5): Students entering our Infants program will have an interview with one of our Infants teachers, which can be scheduled virtually for convenience, in person at our office.

  • Standards 1 and 2 (Ages 6-7): An assessment, guided by one of our teachers, will evaluate your child’s reading, comprehension, writing, and mathematics skills.

  • Standards 3 to 5: The assessment for these grades is completed in school at the end of each Term, using the Trinidad & Tobago Ministry of Education standardised curriculum and testing methods, which ranks a student’s academic skills in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics relative to other students of the same age.

Assessment Fee (non-refundable):

  • Local Student: TT$100
  • International Student: TT$100

Step 3: Admission Decision
Once the assessment is complete, our Admissions Team will thoroughly review your child’s past school performance, assessment results, and submitted documents (e.g., report cards, transcripts, and evaluation reports). It is crucial to submit all relevant school and assessment reports, as failure to do so may negatively impact enrollment.

Parents will be informed of the admission decision. If your child is accepted, a Letter of Acceptance will be offered. To secure your child’s spot at St. Catherine’s Private Primary School, the signed Letter of Acceptance must be returned along with payment of the Registration Fee and a payment towards Tuition Fees. Full payment of fees and submission of a completed Annual Enrollment Agreement form will confirm your child’s enrollment.

The Registration Fee is a one-time payment per student and does not apply to students already enrolled.
